Elks Lodge No. 2348 recently held its annual
Veterans Fishing Derby on the scenic Seneca River. Eighteen veterans from the
long term care floor of the Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical
Center came to the lodge for an afternoon of fishing and socializing.
They were also treated to a delicious summer picnic consisting
of BBQ chicken, kielbasa and sauerkraut, hamburgers, hot dogs,
beans, homemade macaroni salad, upstate NY's famous salt potatoes, fresh
fruit and cake. Upon leaving with full bellies and large smiles all were
given a patriotic shirt to wear.
