BPOE No. 2348 (Liverpool, NY) Annual Children’s Easter Party (2016-03-LIV-2)

Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 held their Annual Children’s Easter Party.   About 60 children attended.  They were able to make a bunny mask as well as a door hanger and to color Easter Bunnies, Eggs and baskets.   There were plenty of snacks.  The Easter Bunny handed out eggs and took pictures with the children.  Each child received a goodie bag.

BPOE No. 271 (Oswego, NY) Public Service Awards (2016-03-OSW-2)




New York State Elks Association President John Jacques recently visited BPOE Lodge No. 271 and the Ontario District.  Oswego Lodge held a Public Service Awards Dinner to honor law enforcement as well as fire fighters in the City of Oswego as well as the surrounding communities.  The Chief of each recipient read the nomination letters.

BPOE No. 2367 (Camillus, NY) Annual Youth Bowling League Awards Ceremony and Banquet (2016-03-CAM-2)




Camillus Elks Lodge No. 2367 recently hosted its Annual Youth Bowling League Awards Ceremony and Banquet.  Twenty four students compete in regular league play and tournaments throughout the fall and winter.  The Camillus Elks provide holiday pizza parties, trophies, and an end of the season banquet.  Community leader Mary Scarson has directed the league the league for 40 years.

BPOE No. 271 (Oswego, NY) Teenager of the Month (2016-02-OSW-2)




NYS Elks Association President John Jacques recently visited BPOE Lodge No. 271 and the Ontario District. Oswego Lodge held an Awards Dinner and honored Clare Donovan from Oswego High School as Teenager of the Month.

BPOE No. 474 (Auburn, NY) Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award (2016-02-AUB-2)




 During a recent visit by NYS Elks Association President, John Jacques to Auburn Elks Lodge No. 474 awarded the Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award, to Art Wenzel.  It did not take the lodge long to decide who the perfect candidate would be.

Art grew up locally in Port Byron, NY and graduated from Port Byron High School.  He joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Hawaii.

As a civilian, he organized the first local Toys for Tots benefit in the1980’s.
. 
He has hosted hundreds of benefits for both National and Local Charities.  He has raised more than 1.5 million dollars for others. 

He is a former Writer and Features Editor of the Citizen Newspaper.
