Ontario District 6300 Military Room

The Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room is located at Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport. The Staff and Volunteers of the Military Courtesy Room are proud to serve each and every member of our Armed Forces who walks through our doors. We are one of only a handful of privately funded military lounges in the nation.  They provide our servicemen and women with snacks, beverages and a comfortable place to wait and rest for flights or transportation to many of the local military installations, in particular Ft. Drum—a US Army base located a little over an hour north of Syracuse. Ft. Drum is home to the 10th Mountain Division and the majority of the military traffic we see comes from these amazing men and women.

Every item in the Military Courtesy Room comes from private and corporate donations from local folks and companies. The City of Syracuse has also wholeheartedly supported our efforts and is an integral part of the continuing success of our project

The Courtesy Room is named in honor of a local Marine, Cpl. Gregory J. Harris who was captured in June of 1966 during the Vietnam War and is still unaccounted for.

Pictured here presenting checks in support of our local Military and their families are (left to right) Kevin Merriam, PSVP,  Syracuse Elks #31, Harris Room Volunteer John Slaski, NYSEA President Bill Reedy Jr. , Camillus Elks #2367 and Ontario District National Service Chm. Ray Caprin Jr., PER of Fulton Elks #830. The donations were made by the Ontario District 6300 PDD Association and Syracuse Lodge #31.

BPOE 2348 (Liverpool NY) Spring Craft Fair

Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 Ladies Auxiliary held a Spring Craft Fair.  Venders from throughout the area purchased tables to show their goods.  There were raffles and door prizes.  Food was available. The day was a huge success for all.  This is just one way the auxiliary earns the money necessary to continue the scholarships given to Liverpool and Baldwinsville High School seniors as well as the monthly donations to local charities.   Picture: Auxiliary President Debbie Sandore and member Terri Risley.
