BPOE 271 (Oswego, NY) Family Day Picnic



Oswego Elks Lodge No. 271 held its annual Family Day Picnic.  NYS Elks Association Past Presidents Charles Noonan, Tim Kelley and Richard Wunder were in attendance.   There were games and activities for young and old alike.  The food was wonderful and the company unmatched.   What a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends.

BPOE 2367 (Camillus, NY) Honor Flight Mission No. 7

Approximately thirty members of Camillus Lodge No. 2367 and Ladies Auxiliary recently attended Syracuse Honor Flight Mission No. 7.  Outside, the Lodge cheered and waved as the plane rolled off the runway and up to the jetway.  Inside, the Lodge was invited as honored guests to form a welcoming line as World War II and Korean War veterans deplaned and assembled for a formal welcoming.  Funds to support the Syracuse Honor Flight were provided by the ENF Gratitude Grant.

BPOE 2367 (Camillus, NY) Veteran's Programs



Camillus Elks Lodge No. 2367 supported an open house party for the VA’s Spinal Cord Recovery Unit with two sheet cakes and two large sheet pizzas.  An impressive demo of the WA’s capabilities in addressing these kinds of injuries to our military oriented veterans. 
They helped St Joseph’s church in Camillus with their homeless veterans program with four bags of personal hygiene and toiletries products. 
Camillus Elks No. 2367 conducted a chicken wing party for all three voluntary units at the VA.  They also had a lasagna dinner for thirty patients in the Behavioral Health Unit at the V A. Joe Sgambati and his catering service donated this dinner.

BPOE 271 (Oswego, NY) Honors Students



Oswego Lodge No. 271 had begun a new youth program to honor students from the BOCES program at Oswego State College.   All the students are from Oswego County and are honored as Student of the Year from BOCES program at Oswego State.

BPOE 474 (Auburn, NY) Old Timers Nights

Auburn Lodge No. 474 recently held its annual Old Timers Nights.
It is an evening to pay tribute to members with twenty-five years of more in Elkdom.
Presently they have ninety old timers, there were thirty-five in attendance.
Lodge officers made and served a delicious meatloaf dinner with all the trimmings.
The room was filled with members with twenty-five to sixty-one years of Elkdom.

BPOE 2348 (Liverpool, NY) Veteran's Fishing Derby



Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 recently held its annual Veterans Fishing Derby on the scenic Seneca River. Eighteen veterans from the long term care floor of the Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical Center came to the lodge for an afternoon of fishing and socializing.  They were also treated  to a delicious summer picnic consisting of BBQ chicken, kielbasa and sauerkraut, hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, homemade macaroni salad, upstate NY's famous salt potatoes, fresh fruit and cake.  Upon leaving with full bellies and large smiles all were given a patriotic shirt to wear.

BPOE 474 (Auburn, NY) National Guard Reserve Unit Computer Donation

Auburn Elks Lodge No. 474  delivered nine laptops to members of the National Guard Reserve Unit in Rochester, NY.    These computers were donated by Computer Science Corp. 
They're going to be used to access trading materials for the National Guard and video conferencing with family members back home while deployed to the Middle East.
They will also be used for college courses.

BPOE 474 (Auburn, NY) Hosted Old Timers Night

Auburn Lodge No. 474 recently held its annual Old Timers Night.

BPOE 2367 (Camillus, NY) Syracuse VA Celebration


During the month of April 2016, Camillus Elks Lodge No. 2367 hosted a chicken wing party with 12 dozen wings for the 60 residents and staff at the Syracuse VA hospital.  They also held their monthly pizza party.  Thanks to the efforts of their Auxiliary, the Lodge was able to again supply lap robes, catheter bag covers, toiletries and word game puzzles for our veterans.
