BPOE 217 (Oswego NY) Mexico Teen

Oswego Elks Lodge #217 recently recognized 32 students from Oswego County as Teenagers of the Month. During this event groups of nine students were chosen from the bodies of Mexico High School, Pulaski High School and Oswego High School, and Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi).  Six students were chosen from Mexico High School.  The Elks Lodge awarded each student $100 for their volunteer service and community and school involvement.  They held a recognition dinner and award ceremony for students and their families.

BPOE 217 (Oswego NY) Oswego Teen Of The Month

Five students were chosen from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi) a technical skills education center similar to BOCES. The Elks Lodge awarded each student $100 for their volunteer service and community and school involvement.  They held a recognition dinner and award ceremony for students and their families.

BPOE 2367 (Camillus NY) Honor Flight

Camillus Elks Lodge #2367 was able to donate $1,000 from their ENF Grant to Honor Flight of Syracuse. The Honor Flight Network was formed to transport veterans to Washington, DC to visit memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices. Honor Flight is committed to continue veterans’ visits to Washington war memorials at no cost to them. They give priority to World War II veterans, but also invite veterans of the Korean War to apply, and veterans from any war with a terminal illness are a top priority. Their donation was used to help fund the mission on Saturday, April 28th. A total of 81 veterans visited the memorials in Washington, DC.
Members of Oswego Lodge #271, Liverpool Lodge #2348 and Camillus Lodge #2367 were part of the “Welcome Home” ceremonies and celebration at Hancock International Airport honoring the veterans upon their return. Although always an honor to attend this ceremony it had an even greater impact on the Elks members in attendance.  One of the service members returning from the trip was Oswego Lodge #271 member and long-term Veteran Chairman Bernie France

BPOE 271 (Oswego NY) Oswego Youth Achievement Award

Oswego Elks Lodge #271 recognized and awarded $100 to recipients of the President's Youth Volunteer Service Award through the Elks Drug Awareness Program for outstanding community service. Hannah Rebello and Victoria Crisafulli received the President's Achievement Award for Volunteer Services. Both students volunteered more than 100 hours of community service and were nominated for their remarkable examples of leadership, dedication and promotion of drug awareness during their time with the Youth Creating Change Coalition.

Ontario District Flag Day Ceremony Save The Date


BPOE 2348 (Liverpool NY) Citizen Of The Year

Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348 recently recognized a Citizen of the Year.  Jay Bernhardt received this award for his generosity throughout our community.  He has been especially generous to Liverpool Elks.  He had been a major corporate contributor to Liverpool Elks Annual Music Fest for several years.  Music Fest raises money for NYS major Projects. He also contributes to the Harry Agny Toy fund,  This contribution provides children at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital with gifts to make their stay just a little more bearable.  Jay was not available to receive this recognition.  His son Jason was happy to represent him and Skyped the presentation so that he might be a part of it.  Congratulations Jay and thank you for all you do in our community

BPOE 271 (Oswego NY) Oswego CiTi

CiTi students from Oswego High School were recognized for their hard work at a ceremony held at Oswego Elks Lodge #271 where they were congratulated by their families, friends, and members of the Elks.  Students Derrik Riesaw, Alexander Drought, Aaron Mabb, Kyle Arrowan, and Erin Shanahan went above and beyond CiTi's standards of attendance, ability, attitude, and appearance. In recognition of their achievements the students received a $100 gift card to the SUNY Oswego College Store. CiTi stands for the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation which provides vocational education for students attending Oswego High School and other districts throughout Oswego County.  These students participated in team building exercises such as painting kindness rocks for “Oswego Rocks, New York” and assembled “candy sundaes” for fundraising held at Hewitt Union on the SUNY Oswego campus. They were taught valuable skills while continuing to learn, apply and demonstrate those skills in professional environments, such as dining halls and cafes on campus. They also worked in costuming, furniture and ceramics shops, as well as work sites such as Price Chopper, T.J. Maxx and Elks Lodge #271. Riesaw, Mabb and Arrowan were recognized for Employee of the Year. Drought was recognized as Rookie of the Year, and Shanahan received Most Improved. The celebration organizers played a short video recounting the student's hard work and daily activities. SUNY Oswego and the Elks Lodge were thanked for their generosity in providing work experience and site locations.

BPOE 2348 (Liverpool NY) Liverpool Spring Clean Up

Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348 participates in the Adopt A Highway Project on County Route 370 in the town of Lysander.  After a brief safety meeting volunteers from the lodge participated in their annual Spring Clean Up by cleaning debris from several miles of the highway near the lodge. The Spring cleanup is planned near Earth Day.   They often have a competition to see who might find the most unusual piece of debris


BPOE 2348 (Liverpool NY) Liverpool Student

Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348 recognizes a student of the month from Liverpool High School and Baldwinsville High school each month during the school year.  They are chosen by their guidance counselors.  The students are chosen both by their academic success but also their community service.  April student of the month from Baldwinsville is Kaitlyn Sinclair and from Liverpool is Riley Balthazor pictured with ER Laurence Gillette PER.
