Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 recently recognized Mary Ellen Clausen as citizen of the year. Because of her personal struggle to help both her daughters overcome eating disorders it became her vision to create Ophelia’s Place. This has lead to an organization that has helped countless young people and adults as well that have been affected with eating disorders. The mission of Ophelia’s Place is to redefine beauty and health by empowering individuals, families, and communities impacted by eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dissatisfaction.
