BPOE 474 (Auburn, NY) Disabled American Veterans (DAV) 2017_04

Auburn Elks Lodge No. 474 continues its unwavering support for our veterans through Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Joseph E Rice Chapter 103.
Thanks to Computer Sciences Corporation in So. Windsor, Ct., the Auburn DAV chapter and the Auburn Elks Lodge 474 were able to obtain, refurbish and donate five additional lap top computers to meet the needs of five veterans who do not have access to laptop computers.  This donation brings the total to 45 Veterans who have received laptops.
Under this program veterans who do not have laptop computers to support their vocational rehabilitation training and education efforts can obtain laptop computers at no charge.  This program enables veterans to have their own laptops computer that they can use for many needs from checking on medical appointments with their local VA medical center or on line education courses through colleges of their choice.  Should the veteran be remotely located the laptop can be a valued video communication with teachers, friends and loved ones.
Although they have already donated 45 computers there are many additional veterans requesting one.  This program could only be successful with the co-operation of CSC, DAV, and the Elks.
Auburn Elks Lodge 474 continues to provide support to the DAV by allowing them to hold their monthly meetings at the lodge at no cost.
