Dear Friends and Family:
Camillus Elks Lodge No. 2367 recently hosted a “Homecoming”
celebration for NYS Elks Association President William J. Reedy, Jr. and his
wife Lisa. Over 225 people gathered from
throughout the state to congratulate them and wish them luck in their future
endeavors. Bill and Lisa jointly issued
the following statement:
One of my favorite
quotes is “Life is not made up of all the breaths you take, but of the moments
that take your breath away.” During this
past year, we have had many such moments that have taken our breath away.
First of all, Lisa and I would like to thank everyone
throughout the state for the generous hospitality, support and friendship that
you showed to us throughout the past year. We have had a wonderful time meeting
all of you and seeing your Lodges. We
learned a lot as we watched you and the members of your lodges in action and as
a result, I can once again proclaim that Elkdom is alive and strong in N.Y.
State.
I have learned that every lodge in our state has
something very special about it and that every lodge has a strong passion and
pride with regards to all that they accomplish.
It has truly been a special honor for us to be able to witness and at
times participate in these achievements.
We have made friends for life and look forward to being with you at
conventions and to revisiting your lodges so that we can update and reminisce.
All of you welcomed us, and our traveling companions during each and every
visit. You went out of your way so that
we would have a great time and you made us feel like we were members of your
lodge. You gave us great feedback, teased us, took us under your wing and
treated us like family. It has been a
special feeling that will last with us forever.
A special thanks to my Presidential Committee, the
Ontario District and the Camillus Elks Lodge for all your support and guidance
and for allowing us to shine in the glory while you worked diligently behind
the scenes.
We will never forget our year of travel throughout our great
State, the sites we visited, friends we made and the honor and pride we felt as
we served as your State President and First Lady. We are very proud of all of you and encourage
you to keep on spreading the word about all of our important programs, and what
we accomplish as Elks. Lastly, please,
don’t forget to ask that very important question when you are with nonmembers
of Elkdom. “Would you like to become an
Elk?” That question is the key to our
future.
All of you are very special to us and because of you, our
lives have been change forever. ELKS, truly are the Best People on Earth.
Love
Bill and Lisa
