CiTi students from Oswego High School were recognized for their hard work at a ceremony held at Oswego Elks Lodge #271 where they were congratulated by their families, friends, and members of the Elks. Students Derrik Riesaw, Alexander Drought, Aaron Mabb, Kyle Arrowan, and Erin Shanahan went above and beyond CiTi's standards of attendance, ability, attitude, and appearance. In recognition of their achievements the students received a $100 gift card to the SUNY Oswego College Store. CiTi stands for the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation which provides vocational education for students attending Oswego High School and other districts throughout Oswego County. These students participated in team building exercises such as painting kindness rocks for “Oswego Rocks, New York” and assembled “candy sundaes” for fundraising held at Hewitt Union on the SUNY Oswego campus. They were taught valuable skills while continuing to learn, apply and demonstrate those skills in professional environments, such as dining halls and cafes on campus. They also worked in costuming, furniture and ceramics shops, as well as work sites such as Price Chopper, T.J. Maxx and Elks Lodge #271. Riesaw, Mabb and Arrowan were recognized for Employee of the Year. Drought was recognized as Rookie of the Year, and Shanahan received Most Improved. The celebration organizers played a short video recounting the student's hard work and daily activities. SUNY Oswego and the Elks Lodge were thanked for their generosity in providing work experience and site locations.
