BPOE 271 (Oswego, NY) Installation of Officers and Elk Of The Year
Oswego Elks Lodge No. 271 recently held its Installation of Officers. Charlotte Sereno, ER presented Bill Kerfien PER with the Elks of the year. At Oswego Lodge the ER for the year chooses the Elk of the year. Bill was well deserving of this honor.

BPOE 2348 (Liverpool, NY) St Patrick’s Day Dinner and Elk of the Year 2017_03
Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 recently held its annual St Patrick’s Day Dinner and Elk of the year Party. Congratulations to Maureen Culican for the honor of being chosen as Elk of the year. At Liverpool Elks Lodge the Elk of the year is chosen by the past Elks of the year and is based on continued service over many years.

BPOE 2348 (Liverpool, NY) Winter Olympics 2017_03
Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 2348 recently hosted the Winter Olympics. It is a fun day of outdoor activities; a chance to make new friendships and renew old; and a little friendly competition from lodges throughout the Ontario District. There were relay races, ladder ball, hockey, tug of war, golf, volley ball, golf chipping and horse shoe. There was also a Chili cook off. A team from Syracuse Elks Lodge 31 came in first place. James Humphrey, PER took first place in the Chili Cook off. Approximately $400 was raised for ENF.

BPOE 474 (Auburn, NY) Enter Event Citizen of the Year 2017_03
NYS Elks Association president, William J Reedy, Jr. of Camillus Lodge No. 2367 recently made his official visitation to Auburn Elks Lodge No. 474. The Lodge selected William F. Jacobs to be awarded “Citizen of the Year”. Jacobs served the City of Auburn as a Councilmen. He was a member of the United State Marine Corp, and member of F.E.M.A. He retired from the City of Auburn Fire Department with the rank of Captain. Jacobs also taught at the State and National Fire Academy and is a renown accomplished Arson Investigator. Auburn Fire Chief Joseph Morabito said that Jacobs was well known for bringing state of the art, innovative ideas and new techniques to the department.
